Anne Wilson - portable city (2008)
The sculpture project entitled Portable City proposes liaisons between textiles and the built environment. Comprised of a horizontal field of 47 mobile vitrines, each vitrine houses a structure of thread or wire filament under tension, suspension, compression, or collapse.
Fading.
A sense of place.
Purpose.
Direction.
Even when you might see a vague, but very real picture.
The tools to keep you going.
To continue the drawing beyond outlines and creating space.
They are so vital…so necessary.
I now understand why community is more than just a group of people.
More than a gathering.
Equipped individually. Gifted and flawed in unique ways…
Yet, incomplete when left alone.
Only fully flourishing when drawing people together.
But, hold fast!
A renewed sense of gratitude. Understanding.
Only fuels the future.
Your grace…is enough.
Always creating hope.
Move me into place.
i wish i knew him personally. i like to conveniently forget that he epitomizes french voyeurism in some ways.

sometimes I wish I was just sitting in a space like this. only knowing that time moves because I can hear the air and see the light shift.
